SpongeBob: "It's the best day ever"

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

That’s one epic food fight!

Time Sky • 1 year ago

Wish it more longer like in original. Turkey as boxing glove, baguette as sword, watermelon as hammer.

Phillip Brooker • 1 year ago

Sadly not adding in Ruby using her Semblance to send Team JNPR flying into the wall with a cyclone of food behind her for the finale.

DrFoggyPants • 1 year ago

Only missing watermelon hammer, otherwise I think it was great, had hoped they would include the turkey gloves

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

Or Nora blasting Yang through the roof with those watermelon hammer

Phillip Brooker • 1 year ago

Followed by Yang crashing through it again at the end after a ticked off Glynda put everything back into proper place.

Sexist Okabe • 1 year ago

It looked really pretty but the one in the original RWBY was a lot better. Definitely benefited from Monty Oum's fight choreography

vovan1 • 1 year ago

yes, and i feel robed, it's like they squeezed everything in like 2min.Wtf happen, i really was expecting reanimation, this was more like a trailer?

Time. • 1 year ago

The food fight was very funny, that’s always been a Elementary dream for me lol

yurification • 1 year ago

i actually quite enjoyed this series despite it being really slow. i would be up for a second season and the food fight in the end was just amazing hahaha

Monkey D. Luna • 1 year ago

I like this show. I just watched a few episodes of the original back then and barely remembers them. I think this has a more serious tone? The original is a bit more goofy if I remember correctly...

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

It indeed was good, even it was slow since I didn't mind it and never watch the cgi Rooster Teeth version at all yet.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

Rooster version was bad, but it was better and full length.

Crimson • 1 year ago

If the baguettes, leeks and sword fish were strong enough to be used as swords and the watermelon as a hammer, what does it say about the quality of the food in there? Sounds tooth breaking 🤣

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

They are infused with their aura so that is why they don't break

vovan1 • 1 year ago

How much aura would you like with your sandwich xD

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

those baguettes were just happy to see you

The recontextualization of certain scenes is definitely interesting, both on the good and bad side of the spectrum, as I question some of the decisions made especially in the sequence of events and directing, however that Memorial at the end started me up followed by that picture by Ein Lee just threw me over the edge.

We miss you Monty.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

indeed we do.

Weiss: "Let's Food Fight!"
Souma: "Anybody rang?"

SketAL • 1 year ago

Be it 3D or 2D the RWBY fandom aaaaaaaaalways finds something to bitch about.
I just love that we got something like this and i hope we'll get more of it! :)

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

I agree to this ^^

shoyu • 1 year ago

But the food fight in the original is better :(

Vlad • 1 year ago

Neither show is a 10/10. Both have lots of wasted potential TBH. Take the food fight for example. The original choreography was better (but the animation was poorer). It was funnier and overall felt much more lighthearted, whereas this one got suffocated in foreshadowing...

SketAL • 1 year ago

Yes, so?
For f's sake, let me spell it out for you:
W-E G-O-T A R-W-B-Y A-N-I-M-E.
And it was actually really enjoyable. Yes, RWBY isn't perfect, and yes, it could have been way better. But it isn't. So you either like it the way it is or you don't watch it. Thats how it normally goes, but for some reason the RWBY fandom decided that it was normal to watch it and bitch about everything.
Monty isn't with us anymore, and he could probably have made this series way better. Or you know, it could have turned out exactly the same.
Point is: Either like RWBY, or don't its up to you. But please spare us the nitpicking, just be happy that RWBY is getting so much love from its creators (coz the fandom could also be way better, just like the series)

Vlad • 1 year ago

I'm a RWBY-fan, but I grew disappointed with how the original show developped and had high hopes for this anime, but got diasppointed. There's no reason to sugarcoat it.
Some other shows are far better made, but I was never a fan of them (Cowboy Bebop) and some mediocre ones (Elfenlied) stuck in my mind, because they did one thing really good, or had some memorable scenes or characters. RWBY is quite a unique case as it wanted to be an anime, but was made in the West and finally became an actual anime. The original series started out on low budget and it shows, but you could also tell that it was a passion project and the quality improved with every episode. This was really heartwarming to watch, but after the fall of Becon, it all fell apart. It had much higher produciton value, but it lost its direction and passion. I really hoped that the Japanese could reboot it and bring it back to the roots, just with a higher production value. Instead, this feels more like a fanfic. That's why I'm disappointed. Again, I watched it, because I still had hopes that it gets better.
PS: the only other show that I know wanted to be an anime and started off great was Avatar. The path of Korra was also a huge letdown and a disservice for the characters of the original anime. I wonder why so many series fail in later seasons (unless they make S up as they go and find themselves in a corner). In case of Avatar, it was clearly not the case, but they ignored pretty much everything what made the original great.

Lucyw18 • 1 year ago

thats unfortunatly the truth

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Best food fight ever in anime 2022.
A slow pace this start out but this was good for me since I never started watching the RWBY franchise until this anime series.
I rate it 7/10

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

Then you're missing out on the original food fight which was better.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

I'll take your word for it.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

O come on Archie not you too,
this food fight was blasphemy to original S2 EP 1 :/

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Never seen it so IDK

vovan1 • 1 year ago

would recommend you to add to watchlist is better than most stuff we got in season original is at least 8/10, at least in late seasons.

Astolfo-kun • 1 year ago

Best fight, food fight!

vovan1 • 1 year ago

O come on, this was sloppy even compared to the original which had rough edges everywhere :(

Time Sky • 1 year ago

Overall this series feel really dragging. I cannot believe we spend that long for Weiss. It should be 4 ep max. I want to learn more about the world, aura and other thing. At least I can see food fight in 2D animated lol. Albeit it short one.

TsubakaBaka • 1 year ago

Well it is called Ice Queendom . Ofc it will about mostly about Weiss.

April Pearson • 1 year ago

that's a lazy excuse, so it ok to repeat the same dream for many episode when all the nighmare other characters had were solved easily?, not a good impression on weiss. seriously, they were so many things they could of done. give more depth to her family than being evil or neglectful, actual have her get to know pyrrha instead of making her admiration for her her become useless in her dream or have blake save her then blake eventually become a nightmare (not because of a jump in logic on blake's part, like how did she know all of that?) and weiss save her giving them better understanding of each other and making their friendship more real. also, they were the one who give it that name, when they could of focus on all the girl nightmares, anything better than a rehash.

A disappointed Trash Bin • 1 year ago

"want to learn more about the world" Funny thing is, that's why the original RWBY exists for that But that isn't an excuse as a NEW viewer that has never heard of the show.

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

This was a nice episode. Missed the nice fun chapters from Vol. 1 to middle of Vol. 3. Food fight wasn't as good as the original though. We're missing Nora's "I'm Queen of the Castle" and the over dramatic cry from Ruby when Weiss got knocked out. But overall was an excellent episode to finish this series.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

yes, i was like come on Nora sing... and it never happen ;(

I like this • 1 year ago

Can we talk about how Yang fought with two roast chickens attached to her fists?

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

fisting the chicken

vovan1 • 1 year ago

i should try it next time i go to KFC.

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

I enjoyed the food fight but looking back at the original food fight the OG was better

Kaelina Vanfeld • 1 year ago

They gave Blake 10 mins of better plot line than Weiss in 12 episodes.
If they had focused in RWBY relationship instead of a nightmare that could be easily dealt with, the anime could have a better rate.
The connection between Weiss background and Blake's were always the good part of this show, i wish they could've work better with them like they did in 10 mins of this anime. The last episode was the most interesting and didn't even have a real fight and this was a mistake of their part, RT and anime (both) should've known how to make better use of 12 damn long episodes. I give a 6.5 for the anime.

NightDevil00 • 1 year ago

To some who are calling Shion Zaiden useless. You can only do so much when it comes to a dream. She specializes in hunting Nightmare Grimm but are barely visible until they have taken a host and even then they are hard to spot. The Nightmare are the definition of a parasite that has adapted to avoid being hunted by Nightmare Hunters like Shion. Her semblance allows for the entering of one's dream while also providing lifelines for the person who is entering the dream. She can't enter dreams herself due to the chance of the Nightmare detecting her and as dreams go they are unpredictable. Though apparently her semblance started off as reading a person's heart before it grew to something strong. She that experience on before she leaves Beacon. A Hunter is never in one place all the time.

Jabbing aside, I say RWBY Ice Queendom was pretty good for a first take on RWBY as an anime series. Not top tier but worthy of a 7/10 at most. I do wish more can be done with RWBY in an anime format while not dealing with the Nightmare Grimm but something else. At the start Roman Torchwick tossed and shot a vile of fire dust to make his escape and it was Cinder piloting the copter so that was one change that I liked here which was also in the official manga too.

The start of this episode is an epilogue to this series with a mix of Ruby and Weiss writing back to their family. A farewell to Zaiden and Ozpin speaking to Ruby and Blake as a professor would. Ozpin pretty much pieced together Blake's background and accepted it and the fact she came to Beacon to change for the better. The episode and series ends with the Food Fight that began Volume 2 and I can never get over how wacky and funny it was when I saw it on the main show and here except a bit more epic.

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

Indeed, Shion sensei is not useless. It is the opposite, she is the most important character in this arc. Without her, there is no way people can fight against Nightmare Grimm. She is the bridge to enter a person's dream.
